We won the ‘Gold’

We recently joined the Structural Timber Association and have been awarded ‘STA Assure Gold’ status at our first attempt – the highest level of achievement! Our auditors scored us a thumping 93% compliance level overall from the assessment, which involved a deep dive analyse across the entire business, reviewing; our management systems and procedures, our SIPs workshop and quality control systems, how we control documented information, how we manage our physical resources, our design and engineering on our SIPs structures, our control measure and how we record non-conformance, our purchasing of materials, how measurement team output (KPI’s), and importantly how we analyse and strive for a LEAN culture of continuous improvement.

We’re extremely grateful to everyone who played their part in helping us prepare for the audit and are so pleased with some of the assessor’s feedback.

‘It was also very rewarding to see all team members using the same system in understanding detail and direction’

‘The administration team displays a high level of IT knowledge

‘Incredible training and development of staff of which wellbeing is also a key factor

‘STA standards have been developed and both the structural engineer and the erectors have been encouraged to join the STA, in fact, the erection company shows 100% compliance in completing the SIPs installation workbooks and tests completed’

‘Finally, as the name suggests Ecologic really does display a strong environmental approach’

The STA’s mission is to enhance quality and drive product innovation through technical guidance and research, underpinned by a members’ quality standard assessment – the STA Assure Membership and Quality Standards Scheme.

For years now we have been working on streamlining our Management and quality systems and are delighted to announce that alongside STA Gold Assure we have also secured our SIPMark and CATG ISO9001 accreditations in the last few months.

What does it mean for our clients?

As the largest UK trade association within the structural timber sector, the STA Assure is designed to benefit both clients and members to enhance quality and drive product innovation through technical guidance. This scheme offers reassurances to our clients that we exceed current legislation and regulatory requirements.

‘Care’ is one of our core values and part of our company ethos; we’re committed to delivering service and quality that exceeds current legislation and regulatory requirements and strive to provide our clients with an exceptional experience.

The STA has reached a formal agreement with the NHBC, who will now accept all STA Assure Gold members as compliant with Chapter 6.2 of NHBC’s assessment processes for timber structures, without the need for further review or completing a HB2445 form

Ecologic SIPs are fully accepted by Building Control, and we are recognised by all other major warranty providers too such as LABC, ICW, Protek, Premier, Self-Build Zone Warranty, and ABC+.

A huge thank you

This has been a huge effort by the whole team and the directors are hugely proud and thankful to the entire team for their continual efforts in striving for excellence.

Here is what our Managing Director Alex Ainsworth had to say…

I cannot express my gratitude and admiration enough to both the team and our extended network of incredible partners for the effort gone in here to achieve this level in such a short period of time. In just a few years we have gone from a modular building company in the small-scale design and build sector, to a leading SIPs manufacturer and installation company on the South Coast. Our level of care and quality has been recognised through this accreditation and we are all so excited for the next chapter in helping inspire people to build in a more sustainable way, watch this space!

Next steps

If you or someone you know is embarking on a new build project then please encourage them to consider SIPs rather than the traditional route of bricks and mortar. We offer free tours of our live SIPs sites and our workshop in the New Forest National Park. We look forward to hearing from you.
